Gumfounded Reviews

"Children and elementary teachers throughout the nation can enjoy the benefits of this wonderful book."
- John Ensign, United States Senator, Nevada

“Gumfounded” combines a story with a lesson and is an interesting way to teach kids about not littering and recycling when they can.
- Kids Bookshelf Reviews

Gumfounded is a children’s picture book about the importance of recycling one’s trash and not littering. The bright color illustrations have a cartoony feel and add an extra dose of humor to this lighthearted yet deeply moral tale.
- Midwest Book Review

Tia’s troubles show the importance of not littering and why we should all recycle. How we can help eliminate smog and the little everyday things we can do to save water for the future. These books deserve a place on every child’s and school’s book shelf.
- The Best Book Bin

"It's hard to find a children's book that combines an entertaining and easy-to-read story with such an important message. Thank you for helping us all take a step in the right direction."
- Laura Daines, 1996 Huntsman Teacher of the Year

"To ensure future generations become conscientious stewards of our Earth, it's essential that recycling become a learned behavior at an early age. Gumfounded offers a fun way to teach children how to think green."
- Washington State Recycling Association

Sherry Garr was so "fun" to have at our school, - she said she wanted to create a book for children with which they would "think about recycling - and cleaning up the earth"! Well she has! Gumfounded is a rollicking - rhyming book that takes the reader, along with Tia, through a "sticky" situation. It is a great lesson in "recycling"! Perfect book for "Earth Day"!

We look forward to Tia's next "adventure"!

"Tia shows kids the other 3R's. . . Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle!! It's never too early to learn how to keep our communities litter free and to recycle whatever possible."

Is Bog Frog a Water Hog?

I never knew you should conserve water. I thought it would never run out, but no I know it will. So I’m going to start doing what Tia and Bob do. Don’t run the water all the time when I brush my teeth. Take a shower instead of a bath all the time, and if I d, I won’t fill it to the top. And it will make momma happy because we won’t make a big mess in the floor. And when I help wash momma’s car I won’t let the water run and run. Tia and Bob did the right thing and I am to.

Bob Frog Sick of Smog

I thought it was bad that Tia and Bob couldn’t see the sky because of all the smog. I like the outside to be clean because I play outside all the time. I thought it was funny when they tried to clean the outside with the soap and water. They did a good thing by telling their friends, neighbors, and the factories. Everybody has to do their part to help keep the sky clean. Tia and Bob did a great thing, and I’m going to help to.
